Advisory Council and Sangha Meetings

Governance in Zen Open Circle is designed to keep the administrative burden upon volunteers as light as possible while maximising alert responsiveness to the changing needs of our community and members. Our teacher is supported and guided by an Advisory Council drawn from experienced members of sangha.

The Council includes two elected positions of Public Officer/Membership Secretary, and Treasurer, as well as an important voluntary office of Sangha Relations, responsible for communications within the community.

At least three times a year, a Sangha Meeting open to all members and regular sitters is held on a Sitting Evening to discuss plans, canvass ideas, explore issues arising, and to seed new projects. These are important, interesting and very enjoyable occasions for wide and direct grassroots participation in steering the ongoing evolution of our community.

* Change to the program for the final Friday of the month

* Zazenkais (1 day retreats)
