Since 2003, Zen Open Circle has hosted Reel to Real, an annual one to three day feast of exceptional films screened and discussed in the light of the Dharma, offering fine conversation accompanied by delicious food as part of the ticket price. Reel to Real is a very special occasion indeed.
Taking advantage of our teacher’s unusual background of expertise both in Zen and as a filmmaker and film historian, Reel to Real also customarily invites filmmakers and other speakers also to take part in the proceedings – a unique event in the Sydney film festival calendar and a vital fundraiser for our work.
