Welcome to the group! As we will not be having a Spring Sesshin at Cloud Mountain this year, Maxine and myself wanted to use that week to deepen and keep our practice flame burning bright, with a home retreat. We also thought others may like to join in. With Kynan's blessing and the guidance of Deborah we've come up with a plan for an 'Open Dojo Online Practice Retreat'.
This retreat will start on the evening of Saturday 28th September and flow through to around lunchtime on the following Saturday, 5th October.
Details:
- No official registration; by joining this retreat yarning circle, you're in! Keep your eye on posts here between now and the retreat time to stay in touch with any updates.
- We’ll gather for four sessions each day in the Open Dojo: before breakfast sit, morning sutras, afternoon sit, and evening teisho recording.
- Maxine and I will hold the space for these sessions, with Deborah joining as her schedule allows.
- There is no cost to join. Dana for Susan and Kynan is encouraged.
- You may come for all sessions or come for only a few as your time permits.
Please note, we are still seeking someone experienced as an Ino to lead a full sutra service. If no one steps forward, we’ll proceed with a pared-down version, perhaps just reciting the heart sutra and one or two others.
Also please note that as this will be a teacher-less retreat without the usual cohort of senior student roles to hold the form and be available for the guidance of first-time participants, this retreat is intended for those who have attended a sesshin previously.
We look forward to practicing together during this retreat. ( )
