Retreat Roles
Dear all,
This coming weekend is the start of our online retreat together. I thought it would be a good idea to share a little more around the roles for the retreat. And also invite you all to take on a role if you're able and willing. Here's what we've got so far:
Maxine will welcome us on the opening Saturday night.
Meg and Susan Price will be our Inos, hosting the sutra service at 10am each day.
I'll keep the time for our sits and kinhin, ring bells, clap sticks.
Emma will be available as needed to respond to practice questions, and/or offer a supportive practice-related conversation within the context of the home retreat. If you'd like to take this up, you can text Emma on 0448 837 912 to set up a time to speak on the phone.
There are three speaking roles each day that we have currently open and would love volunteers to fill. These are:
Reading of a longer sutra or other text from the sutra book at 2pm.
Leading our chant of "On Opening The Dharma" before the teisho recording at 6:30pm.
Finishing the night by leading us in the Great Vows at 8pm.
If you would like to do any of the above for any one or multiple days, please comment below. I've made this visual schedule of the week where we can fill in people's names as they offer themselves.
Thank you all! I'm very much looking forward to sitting with you all
🙏🙏🙏
I can read a sutra on Monday evening. This is usually in the last sit before supper break so in the 3.30pm sit. Looking forward to putting aside this time for practice. Thanks for facilitating us Jazz.
