Dana

Dear Boddhisatvas, thank you for a wonderful weekend! It was so good to sit with you all in person.

a reminder about dana: How lucky we all were this weekend and are right now to be freely receiving the sunshine, the bird call, Betsy's bark, the reassuring pressure of the ground under our feet and the Dharma, which Roshi Susan receives and gives freely, and for which I know so many of us feel such profound gratitude.

While the ticket cost of this event goes to the upkeep of the facility of the cloud mountain dojo and all that entails, dana sent directly to Roshi Susan is a way in which we can express that flow of giving that wells up in our own hearts as a way to say thank you for all that she does for the Sangha (never ending and all encompassing!)

Thanks Jazz. And thanks everyone for our practice together and the warmth. And to Roshi Susan deep bow. And thanks so much for the bnag of soup you sent me home with Jacky ... we had a beaiutiful dinner and I was able to fill my thermas for lunch today at work.

I realised when I got home that I won't make the zazenkai in September as sadly committed to dates that weekend not having realised the dates ahead. But I look forward to November

Zazenkai arrangements

Dear all, here are the arrangements that I'm aware of so far: Travel

  • Barb will be driving from Sydney and bringing Jane and Jacqui with her

  • Nadine is catching a train to Kiama where Anik will pick her up at 9am Saturday.

  • Emma has offered to give anyone a lift from the Berry area Saturday morning who may need it.

  • Neil, Ines & Bob, Kate & Jazz and Emma will be driving. All staying in the nearby area the night before I believe (so not driving from Sydney etc.)

  • Oonagh, Joel and Natasha - what are your travel plans please?

Hi Jazz and Everyone,

I have to follow a gluten and dairy free diet because of food allergies. If anyone happens to be bringing food that is gluten and dairy free, that will be a wonder, but please don' t change what you're bringing or go to any extra trouble at all! If it's got gluten and dairy, everyone else will love eating it!

looking forward to seeing everyone!

kind wishes,

Jacqui

Lift from Kiama station

Hi all

Susan brought it to my attention that the Berry train won’t quite make it in time for 10am. As such I wondered if anyone may be going by Kiama station at 9am?

Thanks all!

Hi Nadine,

just discussed with Jazz and I can pick you up around 9 (probably rather 9.15) from Kiama. This way Kate does not need to come all the way there. Could you let me have your number, so we can fine tune on the morning? Here is mine: 0421968814 Very excited to everyone soon, Anik

Zazenkai Planning

Dear Boddhisatvas, only 3 weeks to go! Woohoo :)

I'm very much looking forward to sitting with you all at Cloud Mountain.

In the lead up, it would be great to do a little organising between us so that we have all our ducks in a row regarding food, accommodation, and planned arrival/departure times.

For food, what's worked well in the past is that we all bring food to share for lunch on the Saturday. One person cooks dinner for everyone on Saturday night (usually something basic like a soup), and one person does breakfast on Sunday (usually porridge with yoghurt and fruit or similar).

Accommodation is BYO camping. But that being said we do have some spare mattresses and tents, so please yell out if you need anything.

Finally it would be great to have an idea of when everyone is planning on coming and staying until. I know…

Food wise for my lunch contribution, I'm bringing big sourdough + butter, some dips, crackers, big cheese and some grain bites (delicious oat/nut/honey snack things)
